Whenever I start dreaming up my big money goals, I like to be able to break those goals down. Smaller, more attainable goals just make me feel better. Take for instance a home purchase goal of say $40,000. That is a huge goal! But if you break it down into 4 years it is only 10k a year, then each month it is only $834 a month! That is totally doable, right? With a budget and a plan it will be!

Breaking down your New Year financial goals
Breaking down goals is a great way to learn how to set financial goals for the new year. That is why I have included a new sheet that will help guide you in the breakdown process for each goal. You can even set a date for each step.
Just write down your goal in the space provided and then break down your goals into more manageable tasks. For a 1 year goal that may be a task for each month savings, a task for what you will cut in order to reach that goal, a task for a reward if you reach the goal and so on.
I made this sheet printer friendly so that you can make as many copies as you need to in order to set money goals for the new year.
